    The successful candidate will have experience using Product Data Management and/or Product Lifecycle Management software (ePDM, Agile, PLM, etc) and a thorough understanding and proficiency in design platforms (SolidWorks preferred).  In addition, you must have incredible attention to detail and a high degree of flexibility and ability to work in a fast paced and continuously changing environment.  Does this sound like you?     Responsibilities

    • Lead the design of innovative, premium protective solutions for consumer products in the time frame allowed
    • Ensure that new products meet all customer requirements
    • Lead engineers in progress from ambiguity (e.g., a rough sketch) to solidified concept
    • Leverage existing design standards to develop parts and assemblies in SolidWorks optimized for injection molding and other high-volume manufacturing processes.
    • Maintain series design standards and provide content updates
    • Plan and estimate engineering development tasks including design cycle, prototype fabrication, testing/validation and project documentation
    • May act as a point of contact for and manage the relationship of external and internal customers
    • Lead design reviews and guide less experienced engineers in utilizing results of reviews to improve part quality, cost, manufacturability and time-to-market
    • Solicit feedback from tooling and manufacturing engineers, applying proper design for manufacturability
    • Interface with cross functional teams, escalate concerns and drive solutions for these concerns
    • Ensure time-to-market goals are achieved and stakeholders updated at regular intervals
    • Work with internal and external parties to build and test prototypes/engineering samples.
    • Select alternative design directions when needed and implement rapidly
    • Ensure time-to-market goals are achieved
    • Other duties as required

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
    • Minimum ten years of engineering design experience required, including six years of SolidWorks experience preferred
    • Experience with injection molding and plastic part design preferred
