    Otter Products is currently recruiting for an Associate Packaging Designer to join our amazing packaging design team!     In addition to supporting the internal packaging team and working with external vendors to ensure consistency of the brand on packaging, the successful candidate will help ensure that the development of packaging meets Otter Products Standard.  The ideal candidate must work well in a team environment, have good communication skills, be able to take creative direction, and be extremely detail oriented.  You must also be able to translate a conceptual idea into an engaging graphic/visual, and have a keen grasp of production and pre-press.  Does this sound like you?     Responsibilities

    • Works with designers, engineering and marketing to create packaging designs for a variety of product lines
    • Assists with collaboration with Packaging Project Managers to review project schedules and status
    • Assists in the creation and revision of packaging materials according to business needs
    • Contributes to brainstorm, conception, team collaboration and idea generation
    • Assists in collaboration with other departments within Otter Products to design packaging materials that meet the needs of the business
    • Assists with the interpretation and development of designs based on packaging briefs
    • Assists with creating eye-catching designs and images to display the Otter Products’ brands
    • Escalates risk through communication, meetings and status reports with internal packaging team
    • Assists with recognizing, researching and discussing design trends, style, and packaging innovations, and assists with translating them into effective design work
    • Receive direction from senior team members and complete daily and or routine design team tasks
    • Supports and maintains a positive safety culture by following all safety policies and procedures and actively contributing to a safe working environment
    • Other duties as required

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree required. Graphic Design, Art, Visual Communication degree preferred. 4-5 years’ experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
    • Minimum one year of design related experience required. Print or packaging design experience preferred.
    • Software skills to preferably include: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Microsoft Office.
