    Otter Products is currently recruiting for a Sr. Packaging Designer to join our amazing packaging design team! As the Sr. Packaging Designer, you will develop creative concepts and innovative ideas supporting customer engaging product packaging.     The successful candidate will be able to translate a conceptual idea into an engaging graphic/visual, as well as have an understanding of production and pre-press.  In addition, you must demonstrate a strong understanding of typography, including kerning/tracking, leading, font identification and positive/negative space.  You must be able to work well in a team environment, have excellent communication skills and be able to take and give creative direction.  Solid planning and organizational skills, including the pro-active ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a busy and fast paced environment is a must.  Does this sound like you?  If so, Otter Products may be a great place to grow your career!

    Responsibilities

    • Lead work with designers, engineering and marketing to create packaging designs for a variety of product lines
    • Manage the review of project schedules and status in collaboration with Packaging Project Managers
    • Review business need cases and align creation and revision of packaging materials accordingly
    • Leads cross-departmental interactions such as meetings, informational exchanges, and presentations for the team
    • Lead brainstorming, conception, and idea generation via team collaboration
    • Collaborate with other departments to design packaging materials across multiple brands that meet the needs of the business and maintain brand integrity
    • Interpret and develop designs based on packaging briefs
    • Create eye-catching designs and images to display the Otter Products’ brands
    • Recognize, research and discuss design trends, style, and packaging innovations, and translate them into effective design work
    • Works to provide assignment direction, answers questions, and works issues escalated by junior team members; acts as mentor to junior team members.
    • Support and maintain a positive safety culture by following all safety policies and procedures and actively contributing to a safe working environment
    • Other duties as required

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree required. Graphic Design, Art, Visual Communication degree preferred. Experience in lieu of degree may be considered, for a total of eight years’ experience in lieu of degree.
    • Minimum four years of design related experience required. Print or packaging design experience preferred.
    • Software skills such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Microsoft Office required.
