The Finance department at Otter Products is seeking a Commercial Finance Lead (“Lead”) to join our team. Our mission as stewards of Otter’s resources, assets and financial plans facilitates our day to day responsibilities of providing accurate and timely financial information to the relevant internal departments and outside sources. We rely on key data, financial models, and business partner relationships to analyze the story behind the numbers, offer valuable insights, recommend solutions, provide financial education, and influence better decision-making.

Initially, the Lead will manage a commercial finance team in directly supporting the business at Otter Products. This includes annual and quarterly forecasting and budgeting of revenue and expenditure. Through effective business partnership, the Lead will provide key insights to drive strategy and decision-making across the company and recommend solutions through financial modeling and scenario planning. The Commercial Finance Lead will align with the Finance Director to ensure that all financial plans support the annual strategic goals of the company.

This Otter will demonstrate a thorough understanding of forecasting, financial modeling, margins and operational expenses and product/project profitability through strong analytical skills, teamwork, innovation, and efficiency. Strong candidates will also possess excellent people skills, well developed presentation skills, practical accounting knowledge, and financial forecasting ability.   • Instil a Servant Leadership approach to Leading, mentoring and developing the commercial finance team driving excellent performance and engagement from all team members
  • Lead budget and forecasting processes and manage their design, maintenance and enhancement
  • Perform detailed financial analyses and commentary driving meaningful insight to senior stakeholders
  • Support quarterly business review process through provision of excellent analyses and presentation material encompassing all business drivers
  • Monitor and analyse monthly operating expenditure of the business
  • Prepare detailed financial models and develop and track KPIs
  • Perform ad hoc in-depth analyses on various business drivers supporting margin enhancement initiatives
  • Lead reporting enhancements to incorporate multiple operational layers such as regional, product, channel
  • Oversee process around commercial deal approval and tracking
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive lean processes across all deliverables
  • IT systems developments and improvement
  • Support other internal projects and ongoing commercial initiatives
  • Collaborate with global finance teams driving best practices, systems and consistency in reporting and analysis
  • Supervise the preparation and timely distribution of the Sales Budget Tracker files, to support regional sales managers on budget spend management
  • Provide financial support/advice for operational and strategic projects and assist in the provision of analytical support for sales team and the leadership team
  • Partner with Finance Director on ad-hoc and strategic project as and when required
  • Manage and enhance the MDF, Listing Fees and Sales Promotion reporting and approval process and align with sales team to analyse performance/ROI
  • Prepare and maintain product price files. Calculate pricing for new product launches and customer specific price lists and identifying process efficiencies and enhancing where required
  • Other duties as required


  • Certified / Chartered (ACCA/ACA) Qualified Accountant
  • 5-6 years Relevant PQE working in commercial finance highly advantageous
  • Experience within a FMCG sales organisation highly advantageous
  • Experience in team management, mentorship and development and ability to empower and encourage a talented team
  • Effective under pressure to consistently achieve challenging deadlines with a strong desire for continuous personal improvement Strong analytical skills with commercial acumen
  • Experience working in a pan European, global environment
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills deployed working in across multiple functions
  • Ability to successfully influence decision making at the highest level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with business planning tools / ERP systems (SAP/Oracle etc.) is required
  • Consumer product pricing experience is essential
  • Expertise in advanced financial forecasting and modeling
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and to prioritize and shift duties to meet critical project deadlines
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals Proficient Microsoft Office Excel® skills are essential, SQL experience would be advantageous
