Overview

Otter Products is recruiting for a Director of Product Category to focus on our B2B and Industrial Solutions for OtterBox. This position will be based in Fort Collins, CO with the ability to work remotely a few days a week.

 

The Director of B2B Solutions Category will own the short and long-term strategy, planning, and execution of the new product and solutions portfolio incubation for new B2B Solutions category. This role will own the P&L for our new global turnkey B2B solutions and is ultimately accountable for ensuring the product and solution portfolio is established to enable Otter to meet strategic goals and growth targets. This person will manage a new, cross-functional team of B2B Solution Product Line Managers and Program Managers and work closely with other Directors in Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure cross-functional alignment, collaborate on goals, and execute on new product development and launches. This is a senior people leader role and will be responsible for making hiring decisions, career development, and performance management for the team.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership responsibility for all aspects of the product and solution portfolio incubation for new turnkey B2B Solutions category, specifically ensuring Otter Products is positioned to win in all relevant commercial market segments and geographies
  • Directs Product Line Management and Segment Management of given categories, including:
    • Managing the Global P&L for the category
    • Owning the operational and strategic goals for the team
    • Providing category insights and proposals to the business by analyzing market and customer data
    • Identifying emerging market trends to support 1-3 year strategic objectives
    • Identifying innovation opportunities from end user and customer insights
    • Leading competitive analysis, and developing plans to beat the competition in market
    • Partnering with the Marketing team to develop product narratives/stories and marketing strategies that will connect with customers hearts and minds
    • Overseeing development of portfolio-level business cases and investment recommendations to senior leadership
    • Responsibility for the successful implementation/execution of portfolio plans within the category or categories
    • Ensuring all new launches of new products and/or series across each region meet launch expectations and necessary time to market
    • Successfully managing the product roadmap(s) by defining optimal strategies with right pricing, costs, timing, brand and features
    • Functions as a central resource within the organization as products move through their lifecycle
  • Partner and collaborate with cross-functional Directors in Product, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to align on goals, tackle challenges in the business, and drive director-level strategic initiatives
  • Partner with global senior leaders to understand region-specific needs and opportunities to shape global product strategy for given category or categories
  • Partner with Global Partner Management team to ensure OEM insights and partnership opportunities are integrated into portfolio strategy
  • Establish and track annual goals and metrics for the Category Team and monitor monthly to ensure expectations are being met course-correct as necessary through active performance management
  • Actively participate in and contribute as a product category owner in Product Management Reviews per the IBP process
  • Oversee and or lead the training of the Sales teams, evangelize new products, and assist with joint sales programs and increase revenue within our key channel partners
  • Serve as key point of contact for product-related communications with Sales
  • Support and maintain a positive safety culture by being an active leader in all safety program initiatives
  • Other duties as required

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in marketing, business, engineering or related field preferred. MBA or advanced degree preferred. Experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
• Minimum of ten years of product management and/or product marketing experience including conceiving, developing and driving innovative products and portfolios required.
• Minimum of five years of experience in a leader/supervisor/mentor/manager role required.
• Previous experience managing P&L preferred

USD $123,800.00/Yr.

For US Based Roles Only - Compensation Range Maximum

USD $170,000.00/Yr.
