The Sr. Materials Program Manager having broad expertise or unique knowledge, uses professional skills to develop, coordinate, and execute all program material strategies, supply chain objectives, and enterprise objectives. This role, requiring a low level of supervisory oversight serves as the liaison between leadership, Program Managers, and the Supply Chain organization, while leading front end business activities including early supply chain management involvement and early supplier involvement. The Sr. Materials Program Manager is influential, effecting overall objectives and long-range goals ensuring others execute responsibilities to achieve schedule requirements, while serving as a leader and mentor to others on the Materials Program Management team.

 

This role is based in Fort Collins, CO with the ability to work remotely a few days a week.

• Supply Chain Management:
  • Manage and help establish the supply chain strategy, pipeline materials and capacity that best support cost, quality, and flexibility
  • Formulate risk assessments to support forecast fluctuation, provide mitigation plans to minimize excess exposure, and develop a strategy to ensure materials availability
  • Collaborate with supply chain and engineering stakeholders to develop supplier selection process for piece parts or outsourced assemblies and identify supply chain risks supporting sourcing decisions.
  • Partner with Cost Engineering team to perform regular cost rollups and analyze product cost performance to drive corrective action as required to achieve product cost targets, and manage the product cost roadmap prior to production release.
  • Facilitate needs and requirements for packaging development.
  • Manage multiple NPI, Hero, or NSI programs to schedule to hit zero allocation, continuously improving cycle time
  • Recognize quality issues and impact this has on the customer

• Cross-Functional Support/Leadership:
  • Expert in managing a cross functional team to optimize skills and to improve the output of the combined team
  • Mentor and coach less experienced MPMs to come up to speed quickly, may manage interns or temp hires
  • Effectively communicate project progress through team meetings, and cater communication to the audience - team, management, senior leadership, internal or external customers
  • Quickly and effectively guide a project team through an identified issue through resolution
  • Lead process improvement projects to improve MPM effectivenes

• Program Management:
  • Engage varying business units product teams to refine and establish project scope, manufacturing needs, timelines, deliverables as well as understanding project skillset needs
  • Master of Otter processes for managing programs including Agile, M3, NPI Status updates, BOM ideal state, Tier 2 readiness, packaging processes and escalation paths
  • Manage programs through Sensei
  • Provide calculated project resource recommendations in collaboration with dept lead
  • Plan and schedule project resources, timelines and milestones using enterprise project management software
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, goals & objectives, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations
  • Proactively manage changes in scope, identify critical path and devise contingency plans
  • Make project recommendations, enforce deadlines and use skills and knowledge to make project decisions
  • Identify areas of process improvements and work to implement changes that drive additional efficiencies and accuracy
  • Set expectations for quality and timeliness of deliverables from project team
  • Follows and enforces established processes
  • Delegates tasks and drives deliverables with owners without doing the work
  • Other duties as assigned 

·    Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in lieu of degree may be considered.

·    Minimum of six years of program management, purchasing, commodity management and/or sourcing experience preferred
